The IDF will likely discharge Gilad Schalit at the end of the month, Army Radio reported, five months after he was released from Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip.

"At the end of the month, and if there are no changes, [Schalit] will officially become a civilian," the report said.

Schalit was kidnapped in June 2006 and smuggled into Gaza, where he was held captive, until October of last year.
