Report: Israeli, Hamas officials meet at border crossing

A meeting was held recently at Erez crossing between Palestinian officials from the Hamas-run government and Israeli officials, Ma'an reported Saturday afternoon.

According to Ma'an, the Palestinian side, represented by the union of Palestinian contractors, requested that Israel allow a Qatari project to reconstruct the Gaza Strip. Israel was represented by southern command chief Tal Russo and his deputy, according to a Ma'an reporter.

The report also stated that Gaza officials requested for Israel to ease its entry procedures for the many Palestinian families whose members are distributed between the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and Israel.
