The Palestinian Authority is holding contacts with Israel in attempts to secure the release of hunger-striking administrative detainee Hana Shalabi, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported Wednesday.
At the request of PA President Mahmoud Abbas, PA Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein al-Sheikh has for several days been in contact with Israeli authorities on the matter, according to the report. Sheikh said he told Israel the PA holds it responsible for Shalabi's well-being and expects it to release her and others being held in administrative detention.
