President Shimon Peres was expected to warn Hamas to stop the rocket fire from Gaza toward Israel in a speech in Safed later Sunday, Israel Radio reported.]

Peres was scheduled to speak at the opening of a new medical school in the northern city. Peres was also expected to call on the international community to condemn Palestinian terror organizations as well as to differentiate between those that advance peace and those that commit acts of terror.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was also expected to speak at the ceremony.
