Report: US Homeland Security chief Napolitano to resign

WASHINGTON - US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will resign from her position to become president of the University of California system, government sources told Reuters on Friday.

Napolitano, a former governor of Arizona, has been a vocal proponent of US immigration reform. A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security could not be immediately reached for comment.
