Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Tuesday pushed back against criticism leveled against him by Palestinian officials over remarks he made in Jerusalem earlier in the week, in which he was accused of suggesting Palestinian culture is responsible for the economic disparity to Israel's.
"I did not speak about the Palestinian culture or the decisions made in their economy," the former Massachusetts governor told Fox News while in Poland. "I will point out that the choices a society makes have a profound impact on the economy and the vitality of that society."
