Russia moves paratroopers to Kyrgyzstan

Russia sent a battalion of paratroopers on Sunday to reinforce security at its air base in Kyrgyzstan, the Interfax news agency reported.

The air base is located in the north of the country, away from the ethnic rioting.Kyrgyzstan's interim government had asked Russia for military help Saturday to quell the rioting, but the Kremlin refused.
