French President Nicolas Sarkozy met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Lebanon on Wednesday, AFP reported.

Sarkozy called on both Lebanon and Israel to work to relax high tensions between the two countries after last week's border clash in which one Israeli and four Lebanese were killed."France will continue supporting Lebanon's democratic institutions and will assist in efforts to maintain Lebanon's stability and sovereignty," Sarkozy said.
