Shapira wins Knesset vote to become state comptroller

The Knesset on Monday voted to install Jerusalem District Court Judge Yosef Shapira as the new state comptroller.
Voting went into a run-off round after the required majority of 61 votes was not achieved by any of the three candidates, which also included the president of the Organization of Internal Auditors and deputy president of the Supreme Court.
Shapira won the third round against Eliezer Rivlin, the Supreme Court's deputy president, by a vote of 68 to 40.
