Sheetrit: Budget expansion caters to the rich

Kadima MK Meir Sheetrit criticized the national budget expansion approved Tuesday morning by the Knesset, saying that it goes against the world trend of reducing national deficits, with a debt expansion benefiting the rich being "a continuation of their profit making over the back of the poor."

Sheetrit suggested that an alternate course of action would be to raise taxes on high income earners, which would bring in billions of shekels that the government's current policy is foregoing.
