Spanish journalist receives ADL's 'Daniel Pearl Award'

BOSTON  — The Anti-Defamation League has awarded Spanish journalist Pilar Rahola its annual "Daniel Pearl Award" late Thursday evening.

The group presented the award in Boston at its annual meeting on Thursday.The Barcelona-born Rahola, a reporter for the Catalan La Vanguardia, often writes on anti-Semitism in Europe. She said it was an honor to receive the award because it reaffirmed her commitment to reporting. She also called on other journalists to keep a critical eye when reporting on human rights violations in the Middle East.
