Steinitz, Attias expected to announce housing prices steps

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and Housing Minister Ariel Attias were expected to hold a press conference Thursday morning where they were set to announce additional steps to lower housing prices, reported Army Radio.

Among the steps, changes in tax and the increase of supply were expected.

According to the Consumer Price Index published Wednesday, apartment prices rose by 0.4 percent in recent weeks. The figures also released that apartment prices jumped 18% in the past year compared to the corresponding figure in 2009.
