MOGADISHU - A suicide bomber killed two policemen guarding the house of former Somali warlord and one-time government police commander Abdi Hassan Awale in the semi-autonomous Galmudug region on Tuesday, a senior military official said.

"A suicide bomber attacked the house of the former police commander. So far two policemen who were guarding him are dead," Col. Mohamed Hussein told Reuters.

Residents said Awale was unhurt.
