TA: 12-year-old girl drowns in sea, dies in hospital

A 12-year-old girl died overnight Friday after being pulled from the water off Tel Aviv's Yerushalayim Beach in critical condition.

Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the girl to Ichilov hospital where she later died.

An initial investigation into the incident found that the girl was at the beach with her family. Five members of the family entered the sea and currents pulled the the of them under the water. The two others managed to swim to shore, while the girl almost drowned and was pulled out of the water unconscious.
