Tel Aviv court sentences former Bat Yam mayor Lahiani to 8 months in jail

The Tel Aviv District Court on Monday sentenced former Bat Yam mayor Shlomi Lahiani to eight months in prison on charges of breach of public trust and fraud.

Last May, the court convicted Lahiani after he cut a plea bargain with the state, leading the state to drop the more serious bribery offenses, which could have carried longer jail time.
