Three women were seriously injured after being struck by a bus while crossing a road near Liberty Bell Park in the capital Monday afternoon. According to police, after the bus hit the group at 3:30 p.m., two of the women were trapped underneath the vehicle, requiring the help of MDA technicians and firefighters to extricate them.
All three women were rushed to an area hospital where they were listed in moderate-to-serious condition, police said. Deeming the collision an accident, a police spokesman said no foul play is suspected and that the driver was not arrested. “We are opening an investigation into the matter,” the official said.
