UK university to review funding from Syria

The University of St. Andrews in the UK is reviewing an academic research center funded by Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime, The Guardian reported on Thursday.
The university received over GBP 100,000 to fund its center for Syrian studies from Syria's ambassador to the UK, Sami Khiyami, and told the British paper that "in view of significant international concerns about recent events in Syria" it would review the center "to ensure its high academic standards are maintained."
