Deputy Commander of the United States European Command Lt. Gen. John D. Gardner arrived in Israel on Saturday as a guest of Deputy Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz.

Gardner will visit the northern border with Lebanon and will hold meetings with senior IDF officers, including OC Planning Directorate Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel.

He will also visit the X-Band radar that the US deployed in the Negev in 2008 and which is operated by American soldiers from the EUCOM.
