US Senator John Kerry arrived in Lebanon Thursday as the first leg of his visit to the Middle East.

Kerry met with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, Lebanese Prime Minister Sa'ad Hariri and other government members in Beirut.

He is set to meet with Syrian President Bashar Assad.
