US religious streams push Congressmen on Pollard

The leaders of American Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Jewry joined together in a letter to Congressmen last week urging them to endorse clemency for Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard.

A bipartisan letter to US President Barack Obama has been circulating in the House of Representatives in an effort to obtain the support of as many Congressmen as possible.

The letter, initiated by veteran Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY) and Congressman Christopher Smith (R-NJ), marks the first time Congressional Democrats and Republicans have joined forces in an effort to secure Pollard's releas
