Wikileaks: Berlusconi aided Africa to avoid Bono's wrath

According to a US diplomatic cable released by Wikileaks, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi considered "maintain[ing] funding levels" of diplomatic aid to Africa in 2009 "simply to avoid an embarrassing tongue-lashing from Bono."

Bono, the lead singer of rock band U2, has campaigned to eradicate poverty and hunger in Africa, meeting with many Western leaders.
