Wikileaks: Syria refused to help fight war against Israel

Syria refused to help Iran fight Israel in case of a military confrontation that would likely follow an attack on Teheran's nuclear facilities, a Wikileaks document released Wednesday reveals.

Statements in the December 2009 document were likely made by a diplomatic source speaking with the US Embassy in Damascus.

In response to Iran's demands that Syria join them in the event that war breaks out with Israel, Damascus said not to expect Syria, Hizbullah or Hamas to participate in this war.
