Woman drowns after getting swept up in Banyas

A 20-year-old woman was swept away in the waters of the Banyas and drowned on Saturday.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. Magen David Adom paramedics received word that the woman had fallen into river near the Eucalyptus Picnic Area in the Nahmia Fields. 

Arriving on the scene, paramedics searched for her body, eventually spotting and her pulling her lifeless body from the water.

The emergency crew transferred her body to a hospital in Kiryat Shmona, where she was pronounced dead.
