Labor party chairwoman Shelly Yechimovich on Thursday called on France to increase sanctions on Iran, during a meeting with French President Francois Hollande in Paris.

During the meeting at Elysee Palace, which was also attended by the Israeli and French ambassadors, Yechimovich congratulated Hollande on his election victory and moves he has taken to minimize the wealth gap in his country.

Yechimovich also said France, as a key player in the region, has the power to influence other countries to ramp up pressure and sanctions on Iran.
