Poalim IBI, Altshuler Shaham named top underwriters of 2006

Following Altshuler Shaham on the list of lead underwriters was Poalim IBI, which finished in second place in this category despite the fact that it underwrote approximately NIS 245.8m.

Poalim IBI and Altshuler Shaham were named Israel's top underwriting companies according to a report released by Dun and Bradstreet Israel on Tuesday. IBI was the managing underwriter of 55 issues in 2006 worth some NIS 5.9 billion, placing it first in the category of managing underwriter, while Altshuler Shaham was lead underwriter for 73 issues, worth an estimated NIS 168.3 million and placing it first among lead underwriters. Both the lead and managing underwriter head the consortium mentioned on the cover of the offering prospectus, while the managing underwriter also serves as the coordinator responsible for issues and allocating commissions, D&B explained. In second place on the list of managing underwriters was Clal Finance with 39 offerings, followed by Leader and Co. with 25 offerings. Rounding out the top five were Excellence Nessuah with 17 offerings and Apex with 14. Following Altshuler Shaham on the list of lead underwriters was Poalim IBI, which finished in second place in this category despite the fact that it underwrote approximately NIS 245.8m. worth of offerings during the year. In third place was Rosario Capital with 45 offerings, followed by Clal Finance and Apex.
