Ra'anan Dinur, director-general of the Prime Minister's office, along with Gabi Maimon, director-general of the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry and Yarom Ariav, director-general of the Finance Ministry, met with representatives from the country's three largest bakeries on Monday at the Prime Minister's office in an effort to bring an end to the now weeks' long subsidized bread crises.
Following a decision by the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry to not raise the prices on government price-controlled bread, bakeries across the country stopped producing the subsidized bread, claiming the continued production of the five varieties of price-controlled bread would lead to substantial losses as the price of flour has risen significantly over the last few months.
Representatives from Angel's, Berman's, and Davidovich & Sons Ltd. bakeries were present at the meeting.
