Palestinian supporters hack Israel Trauma Coalition website

Hacked homepage showed a Gaza Palestinian flag on the side of a ship with freight, apparently meant for the Gaza Strip.

Pro-Palestinian hackers broke into the website of the Israel Trauma Coalition (israeltrauma.coalition.org) over the weekend, replacing its home page with the words: “Virtual protests will continue...! Everything for Palestine!”
The hacked homepage also showed a Gaza Palestinian flag on the side of a ship with freight, apparently meant for the Gaza Strip. The symbol of a knight on a horse and the word “Akincilar,” the name of a Turkish city and district, appeared below it.

The website has since been restored, and action has been taken to prevent its reoccurrence, according to ITC director-general Talia Levanon.
“We people who are working regularly with victims of terror against Israel... unfortunately see hostile groups trying to carry out technological attacks as well,” Lebanon said. “We are continuing to provide our services as usual.”
The ITC is a voluntary organization representing a coalition of some 50 leading Israeli groups that treat psychotrauma and work to bolster victims emotionally and otherwise. They include ERAN (Emotional First Aid), NATAL and others, especially those established to help Israelis cope with violence of the second intifada.
The coalition was established in 2002 with funding from the New York Jewish Federation and works in coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office, the Home Front Command and other bodies. It runs five centers set up in communities near the Gaza Strip, and also works in the North to help victims of December’s Carmel forest fire.
