Sheldon Gary Adelson is an American businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
His business career spans more than five decades and has included creating and developing more than 50 different companies.
He is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, a leading global developer of destination properties which owns The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The company has several resorts in the US as well as in Asia, where it owns additional casino hotel resorts.
Adelson also owns the Hebrew-language free daily newspaper Israel Hayom which was founded in the summer of 2007.
Adelson and his wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson have donated to a variety of charitable causes, and have founded the Adelson Foundation, a private charity headquartered in Los Angeles.
Adelson has earned multiple honorary degrees and has guest lectured at various universities.

The award was established by former US president John F. Kennedy and complements the nation’s highest military award, the Medal of Honor.
Guests ate pizza, mini hot dogs, hamburgers and French fries served from elegant dishware.
Their humanitarian work is unmatched and they work tirelessly to fulfill the Jewish imperative of perfecting the world as a junior partner in God’s creation.

In Judaism it’s not belief in a savior that will get you into heaven. It’s rather the good deeds you do – the mitzvot you perform – that will create heaven on earth.
If the 2014 Conference can spur public brisk discussion on how to remedy the some of the policy deficiencies it exposed it will have made an enormous contribution to the long-term strategic well-being of the nation.

Friedman wants others to share his loathing for Adelson because the philanthropist opposes the great sage’s desire for a unilateral withdrawal from the West Bank.
I have no problem with Rabbi Yoffie criticizing Chabad, Sheldon Adelson’s comments about a nuclear detonation in an empty Iranian desert, or me, for that matter.
On this one point, I remain unsure, and continue to despise those monsters who would murder a child because of his nationality, religion, or race.
There are some lists that have helped Jews in the past, including, most notably, Schindler’s, but mainly Jewish list-making has been an activity of those who are hostile to Jews.
