The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) has extended Passover greetings to Israelis, wishing liberty to both the Palestinian and the Israeli people.
The Palestinian greeting missive was issued on Sunday by Mohammad al-Madani, a member of the Fatah Center Committee and the head of the Palestinian Committee for Interaction with Israeli Society.
In his missive, disseminated on Israeli news sites, Madani addressed the Israeli people: "We extend our hearty greetings to you for the holiday of freedom."
"May the Palestinian people also win freedom, and we would establish our state next to the State of Israel and peace would prevail in our region," Madani stated.
Madani concluded the missive with an Amen blessing and "Happy Holiday" greeting.
Madani's initiative aroused a slew of furious reactions among Palestinians who regarded it as additional evidence of his aspiration to tighten the collaboration with Israel. Last month, Madani headed a Palestinian delegation to a condolence visit at the home of senior IDF general Munir Amar, who was killed in a plane crash.
