Rocket sirens sound in southern Israeli communities near Gaza border

Rocket alert sirens sounded in two southern Israeli communities in the Eshkol Regional Council near the Gaza border on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly afterward, the IDF said that the Red Alert' alarms had been activated in a false alarm. 
The incident came the day after Israel and Turkey signed a reconciliation deal that obliges Ankara, which has diplomatic relations with Hamas, to prevent the preparation of terrorist attacks against Israel from its territory, including the raising of funds for the terror group that controls Gaza.
In late May, the Ajnad Bait al-Maqdis salafi terror group in Gaza claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on southern Israel.
The group, which has clashed with Hamas in Gaza, said that it hoped its rocket attacks on the South would prompt Israel to retaliate against its rival Hamas.
In response to rocket fire launched towards Israel, the Israeli Air Force attacked two locations that were part of Hamas' terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
