About 40 masked settlers entered the Palestinian village of Burin Wednesday in the area of the Samaria Regional Brigade and began throwing stones at residents and their homes, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.
IDF forces arrived at the scene and removed the settlers from the village, according to the unit.
But video released by Rabbis for Human Rights shows IDF soldiers standing idly by as settlers hurl rocks at the village's residents.
Former Defense Minister Amir Peretz came out swinging against the settlers' actions Wednesday.
"The case of settlers throwing stones at Palestinians undermines Israeli law, and therefore we must act with determination and without delay so that the territory in our responsibility will not become a no-man's-land where there are pogroms of rioters under our noses," he said. "These acts are contrary to Jewish morality and Zionist interests. The authorities must open an immediate investigation without any compromise "
Security forces will continue to work to prevent such occurrences, they said.
