I was exposed to the American company Nomatic several years ago, but only recently did I get to review its famous backpack in its updated version - Travel Pack.

The Nomatic company, established a decade ago, specializes in the design and manufacture of backpacks for flights and everyday use.

Like many other startups, it was very active on crowdfunding sites where it managed to raise close to 16 million dollars by 2023. From a backpack, the company expanded the catalog to hard luggage, camera bags and travel clothing.

Nomatic Travel Pack - more compartments than you need

A backpack for travel or everyday use needs a lot of compartments, whether it's for a laptop, keys, chargers or headphones, computer accessories and a drinking bottle. Nomatic offers lots of compartments, including two magnetic compartments for bottles (one on each side). The cell opens when you put the bottle in and magnetizes back when you take the bottle out of it. It works great, provides stability to the bottle and also looks neat without putting a bottle in it.

The Travel Pack comes in three colors: black, dark blue or olive color and also has two versions of 14 liters or 20 liters. I reviewed the 20 liter black model. It is made of hard, rain-resistant material.

It has three main compartments: on the back - a compartment for a laptop, an expandable middle compartment for clothes or large items and a front compartment for smaller items.

For people who sometimes prefer to carry the bag in their hand rather than on their back, Nomatic also offers a handle on the side of the bag and the option to insert the back straps, so it becomes a side bag. I did not find this solution effective, but there may be an audience that would like this option.

In the front compartment there are several compartments for small items, such as headphones, a box of chewing gum and things like that, two compartments for pens, which I used one for a relatively thin cleaning spray for cleaning screens and there is another RFID protected research compartment, where you can store a wallet or objects from which information can be stolen wirelessly.

Nomatic Travel Pack - adapted for flights

The laptop area is on the back of the bag, it includes a location for a laptop up to 15 inches in size, a compartment for a tablet and another compartment for accessories, for example, relatively flat accessories.

For example, a portable battery or various adapters for the computer. Since this is a bag for people who often fly, the compartment itself opens 180 degrees, so that if the security person at the airport does not cause problems, it can be left open and passed through the mirroring machine, without removing the laptop from the bag.

This is not the only solution that Nomatic has thought of for frequent travelers, the back of the bag, under the straps, includes the option of connecting to the suitcase handle, so that it can be placed on it in a stable horizontal manner, without carrying the bag on the back. Another solution for flights or weekend trips is in the central compartment, it can be expanded by 20% and opened 180 degrees like a suitcase, so you can easily put clothes in and there are also internal compartments for neat storage.

Nomatic Travel Pack - there are also accessories

The bag comes with additional accessories: a hard case for glasses, including a designated location for its storage in the central compartment and there is also a key holder with a strap that can connect to the bag and allow easy access to the key when you get home, without having to start looking for it in the bag.

One of the compartments I liked in the bag is in its upper part, it is a not particularly large compartment, which allows you to store a smartphone, wallet or headphones. The compartment is accessible and allows you to quickly retrieve the necessary object. On the back of the bag there is a secret compartment, where you can store credit cards, cash or keys. This is a compartment that people in the immediate vicinity will find difficult to reach when the bag is on your back.

The bag sat firmly on my back, the back straps are padded and also made of foam, which gives a comfortable and soft feeling. What I liked least was the weight of the bag, which is 1.8 kg, which is not much at all and it bothered me in daily use.

Bottom line, the Travel Pack is a high-quality and especially premium backpack for hi-techs or people looking for a hard bag with a lot of space to store things, from a laptop, small gadgets to even clothing. This bag is suitable for everyday use, when it expands for flights abroad. It includes a lot of neat compartments, so it's easy to organize the things and it also has additional compartments on its outer parts, which allow for quick retrieval of a wallet or a water bottle. On the other hand, it is relatively large and a bit heavy, so you should take that into account.

Tech Organizer - a complementary accessory for cables and chargers

While the backpack can contain a lot of separate compartments for storing things, some of us carry various chargers, cables, small headphones, touch pen, CD-N-K and other small and not necessarily technological items, such as medicine and welcome money. The Tech Organizer is a carrying case created just for these things, when it can be used as an addition to the Nomatic backpack or as an accessory for other bags.

It is a compact, somewhat thick bag made of hard and moisture-resistant materials. On the back of the bag there is a strap that allows you to grab it comfortably in the hand and at the top a small strap for hanging on the wall in the office or in the airplane seat, for easy access to the items stored in it.

When you open the bag, you discover on the left side two transparent research compartments that are not very large (for storing headphones, memory cards, batteries or even medicines). On the opposite side there is a long transparent vertical compartment with a pocket suitable for storing banknotes.

This compartment is built like a book in the middle of the bag, so that when you turn it over, you discover three snap-in compartments for convenient storage of cables and on the opposite side two open compartments for storing chargers.
