The Israeli airline "Air Haifa" is warming up its engines and according to estimates it will start operating its flights from Haifa already this summer.

"Air Haifa", founded by the hi-techist Nir Tzuk and the former Director General of the Ministry of Finance Shai Babad, is actually a new low-cost company that will operate flights from the Haifa airport.

According to a statement by the Minister of Transportation, the expected start of flights is June 2024. However, it seems that the estimate of the Minister of Transportation is unrealistic, considering that the company has not completed the process of recruiting and training employees.

However, it seems that "Air Haifa" will start issuing flights already this summer, when at the beginning it will issue flights on the Haifa-Eilat route and later it will also fly to Cyprus.

There is no doubt that even if the company does not start operating in June, it is still good news for the residents of the north who until now have to travel to Ben Gurion Airport. At the moment, we know that the flights are expected to shorten the travel time for the northerners, but it is not yet clear what the price of the flights will be.

"Air Haifa" is expected to operate a fleet of new ATR72-600 aircraft for the company's operations, which can accommodate 72-78 passengers. And at the moment, when it does not seem that the companies Israir and Ista, which operated a line from Haifa to Cyprus, are planning to reactivate it, "Air Haifa" is expected to be the prominent company in the port.
