230,000 Israelis hit parks and trails on 1st day of Sukkot

Two hundred and thirty thousand Israelis hit the parks and trails on the first day of Sukkot, the National Parks Authority (NPA) and JNF-KKL said Thursday night. One hundred and sixty thousand visited sites managed by NPA and 70,000 visited KKL sites. KKL said the unseasonably warm weather probably kept some people away.
The most popular sites were the Hula Agmon, Caesaria, the Banias, Ein Gedi, the Sharon area and the Jerusalem hills.
Both NPA and KKL will be holding various events around the country throughout the holiday.
More information can be found on their respective websites.
More than a million people are expected to take advantage of the holiday to get out to nature.
