Activists removed from disputed Hebron home dubbed 'Peace House'

Approximately ten right-wing activists were evacuated after they broke into a disputed building dubbed the Beit Hashalom in Hebron before dawn Wednesday morning. They were evacuated from the building's roof and said they came there to protest the burning of a vineyard in Kiryat Arba by the Civil Administration. Three of the activists were detained. The property was originally inhabited by several families who said they bought the house from its previous owner, but after a legal battle, the government ordered the residents to evacuate. They refused to leave and were forcefully evacuated in December 2008.
