Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Thursday he believed "international terrorism" in Afghanistan would be beaten. Karzai spoke Thursday after he was sworn in to a second five-year term following a tumultuous election. He said that the United States would continue to be an important partner in this fight, as would bringing in former Taliban who were ready to renounce terrorism. He said that Afghanistan's relationship with the United States continued to be friendly and said the Afghan people would never forget the sacrifices of American soldiers.
