Israel Police and Border Police forces clashed with Palestinian rioters at the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem on Monday afternoon, Palestinian media reported.

Nine Palestinians were injured as a result of violence between rioters and police, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Video reportedly from the scene showed police detaining a number of people and skirmishing with small crowds.

More videos circulating on social media show Palestinians being blasted with water cannons as a means of riot control.

Multiple arrests were made by Israeli forces as Palestinians continued to riot at Damascus Gate, according to Palestinian reports.

This is a developing story.
