IDF clashes with Palestinians in Jenin, 3 arrested - report

A Palestinian man attacked a civilian security guard and unsuccessfully tried to steal his weapon at the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem.

IDF soldiers clashed with Palestinians in Jenin on Tuesday afternoon, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. 

Ynet reported that Israeli security forces arrested three Islamic Jihad members, who were allegedly planning to carry out a terror attack in the near future. 

Eight Palestinians were injured during the operation, Ynet reported citing the Palestinian Health Ministry. They were taken to the hospital. 

No casualties were incurred among Israeli forces. 

Security incident at Qalandiya checkpoint

A Palestinian man in his 40s attacked a civilian security guard and tried to steal his weapon at the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem on Tuesday evening, according to the Israel Police Spokesperson.

The Palestinian, a resident of the West Bank without a residence permit in Israel walking on crutches, attacked one of the checkpoint's security guards, who then subdued and detained him.

The police opened an investigation into the incident.
