Ayalon: Long-term interim agreement only real possibility

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon on Saturday said he was pleased that the UN General Assembly's president had stated that a Palestinian state would not be recognized without the authorization of the UN Security Council.
"If the General Assembly will decide to recognize a Palestinian state, it will become yet another decision gathering dust in the UN archives," Ayalon said at a cultural event in Nes Ziona.
Ayalon added that current conditions do not enable the formation of a Palestinian state through negotiations nor through the UN. "The only real possibility is a long-term interim agreement," Ayalon stated.
