Bar-Lev case closed after apology, resignation

The Police Investigations Department has closed a sexual harassment case against former southern police head Cmdr. Uri Bar-Lev, after he apologized to the woman who filed the complaint and resigned from the police.
A statement released by the Justice Ministry said that "sufficient evidence" had been gathered to back up allegations of harassment, but that Bar Lev had come forward to apologize to Dr. Orly Innes, a Public Security Ministry employee.
Bar-Lev, who has denied the suspicions against him in the past, said he would resign from the police immediately.
Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein closed the case following Bar-Lev's recent actions.
