Ben-Ari: Political takeover of Bar Association's disturbing

The political takeover of the Bar Association is disturbing, said Representative of the Judicial Selection Committee Attorney Rachel Ben-Ari in an interview with Army Radio Tuesday morning.

"Whoever has not succeeded in changing the balance of power in the Judicial Selection Committee is trying to do so through the representatives, and to paint them with political colors in order to achieve a certain result," Ben-Ari said.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has agreed to review the bill, after the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee authorized the changes to the bill on Monday for its second and third (final) plenum votes. The bill would retroactively cancel the Bar Association's selection of representatives to the Judicial Selection.
