Chief Sephardi RabbiShlomo Amar will lead on Monday evening a mass prayer at the WesternWall, in the wake of “the severe situation and the troublesbefalling Jews in Israel and world.”
Besides prominent rabbis,relatives of the Fogel and Ben Yishai families, who were murdered intheir home in Itamar, are to participate. The organizers said thatGilad Schalit's grandfather will do his best to attend the prayer, which is scheduled to begin at 17:45.
“This is a time ofdivine judgment throughout the world, and our strength is in ourunity and prayer, regardless of ethnic group, stream or community,”Amar said in a statement. The chief rabbi recently attended theKnesset event in which Religious Services Minister Yaakov Margicalled for legislation determining that there are no streamsin Judaism.
