Clinton and Peres discuss peace talks in Jerusalem

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with President Shimon Peres at Beit Hanassi in Jerusalem on Tuesday, following their discussion of the latest round of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
In a joint press conference, Peres said that the conflict had changed from one between Palestinians and Israelis to one in which one country, Iran, wanting to attain hegemony in the region is using terrorism against everyone else. He added that the peace talks had thus far gone much better than the skeptics expected.
Clinton was very complimentary of Peres, saying that he had been working for peace his entire life. She added that the current situation is unsustainable and the only way Israel can secure its future as a democratic, Jewish state is through a peace agreement based on a two-state solution
