Committee approves NIS 51 million for sewage projects

An inter-ministerial committee approved NIS 51million for 14 sewage projects, many in the Arab sector, the Water Authority said Wednesday.
In addition to sewage lines for many Arab cities like Tamra, Umm el Fahm and Kafr Kara, the funds will be used to upgrade Safed's sewage treatment plant. The plant treats 2,600 thousand cubic meters of sewage a year to secondary level. By 2030, the plant will treat 3,600 thousand cubic meters to tertiary level and treat sewage sludge as well.
