Doctors on Giffords: No change is good, we have no change

NEW YORK - At a press conference at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tuscon Monday, doctors said they continue to be optimistic about Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' recuperation from Saturday's shooting.
According to Dr. Michael Lemole, the hospital's chief of neurosurgery, "at this phase of the game, no change is good, and we have no change."
Lemole said Giffords continues to follow basic commands, and that CAT scans show no progression of swelling in the brain.
"We're not out of the woods yet," Lemole cautioned, adding that generally, swelling can take three to five days to maximize. Giffords, in critical condition in the hospital's ICU, is currently in post-operative day two.
