Earthquake jolts northeast Japan; no tsunami warning

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 hit northeastern Japan on Tuesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said, shaking buildings in capital Tokyo.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at Fukushima prefecture, the agency said, adding that no tsunami warning had been issued.
Tokyo Electric Power Co , operator of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in northeastern Japan, said workers had not been evacuated and work at the complex was continuing normally after the quake.
