Edelstein expresses dismay at attack on NJ synagogue

Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Yuli Edelstein expressed Thursday his dismay regarding Wednesday's attack on a New Jersey synagogue,  and said that hoped police would find the culprits soon.
"This is surprising because it is taking place in America, of all places, where we’re not used to seeing things like this,” he said. “As has often been the case in times of economic trouble people often take it out on Jews.” He said his ministry is currently putting together a report on anti-Semitism in 2011.Jewish leaders and law enforcement officials are tightening security measures as investigators search for the culprit who firebombed a Rutherford, NJ, synagogue, injuring its rabbi.
