Egypt suspends all football in the country

CAIRO — The Egyptian Football Association said Friday that the country's football league has been suspended until a "return of stability" to the Middle Eastern nation.
Protesters in Egypt have recently stepped up their campaign to oust Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak after a nearly 30-year authoritarian reign, causing the association to suspend all football activity in the country.
Last week, the Egyptian association postponed the 16th round of the league because of the anti-government protests in Cairo and other cities. On Monday, the United States canceled a friendly that have been scheduled for next Wednesday.
