Egyptian FM Gheit calls for clear deadlines in peace talks

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Wednesday requested that the international community call for an 'end game' in peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and to set clear deadlines for reaching a deal, AFP reported.
“The Egyptian view is as follows: Let’s agree on an end game,” Gheit said after a discussion with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov in Sofia. “The end game is that the international community, the Quartet — the Americans, the European Union, the Russian federation as well as the United Nations — would agree on parameters for the settlement (between the Israelis and Palestinians),” he continued.
Gheit also warned that time was running out for reaching a two-state agreement between the two parties.
