Egypt's Brotherhood says candidate still leading in vote

CAIRO - Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said on Monday its candidate Mohamed Morsy had a lead over his rival ex-military man Ahmed Shafik in a presidential election, with 54 percent of votes cast based on the count from more than 90 percent of polling stations.

A Brotherhood official said Shafik had 46 percent of the votes counted, the official added. Shafik's campaign has not given a clear indication of where their candidate lies.

Candidates have representatives at polling stations watching the count. However, it was not clear how many of the polling stations in major centers, which might still influence the outcome, had yet to be counted.
